A serious student of divination for over 20 years, I read at psychic fairs, Celtic festivals, metaphysical shops, parties, and private residences.
Readings
I read with the Golden Tarot, featuring medieval and Renaissance art images, or with the Thoth deck, designed in the 1930s with art by Lady Frieda Harris, or with the classic Rider Waite deck. The spread (or card arrangement) will be chosen depending on the nature of your question, and the arrangement I feel will yield the most insight; I use multiple types of spreads for different purposes.
My approach to divination is to regard it as a means to gain insight into a question or situation, rather than a way to "tell the future" per se. My readings are influenced by my studies in Jungian depth psychology, and I employ the concept of synchronicity to identify and interpret symbols and patterns in a meaningful way. However, while I don't identify as a psychic or a clairvoyant, there have certainly been some uncanny readings in which I felt something more intuitive was at work.
Studies & Spirituality
I grew up in Washington Court House, Ohio, and attended Ohio State University in Columbus, where I studied both Religion and Psychology. I lived for a year in Turkey, spending time in both Istanbul and Ankara - an experience that gifted me with a love of travel and an interest in different cultures and religions.
My independent pursuit of knowledge has included extensive reading on mythology, comparative religion and theology, sacred geometry, and in-depth study of runes, tarot, and other divinatory systems.
I've completed two courses with the B.O.T.A. (Builders of the Adytum), an organization dedicated to Tarot, the Qabalah, and other Western Mystery Traditions. Writers on tarot and divination who have influenced me include Karen Hamaker-Zondag, Gail Fairfield, Robert Wang, and Israel Regardie.
My interest in the ogham, the Celtic tree oracle, developed naturally from my attraction to Celtic culture and spirituality; I've been a member of both ADF (Ár nDraíocht Féin) and AODA (The Ancient Order of Druids in America).
Other spiritual paths and practices of interest to me include Buddhism, Vipassana meditation, panentheism, and Creation Spirituality, particularly the writings of 12th century mystic Hildegard of Bingen, and the works of contemporary theologian Matthew Fox.
